Position Summary:

Independently leads and supports contract management activities including, but not limited to: tracking of contractual requirements for submission of deliverable and notices, analysis of solicitations for potential changes or claims, preparation of summaries and development of strategies and recommendations with attention to the financial and business risk associated with the proposed effort; participation in all senior project team meetings; preparation of the terms, conditions, and assumptions upon which changes or claims are to be submitted; and review of the technical and commercial content of changes and claims for accuracy and consistency.

Responsibilities also include coordination with other project management functions as required to ensure appropriate reviews are conducted, scheduling of required reviews, and obtaining required review and approval signatures prior to submittal of contractual deliverables, notices, changes and claims to the Client.

Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the Contract Manager’s responsibilities shall include:

  • Work collaboratively with the project team to identify and maintain the contract baseline requirements and to develop a prime contract management program for the project consistent with good contract administration practices, including a contract brief, a project change management procedure and mechanisms to monitor Project compliance with contract terms and conditions and maintain the Project baseline.

  • Provide ongoing training in the various aspects of contract management to Project Managers and to other key members of project teams to address contract principles, subcontract formation and administration, identification, preparation and resolution of claims.

  • Work with the project team to ensure that Company’s entitlement to additional time and compensation is properly documented and communicated to the Customer.

  • Provide claims identification, development and presentation support to the project team, assisting in the management and resolution of claims as required.

  • Participate in functional management team reviews, including cost, schedule and risk workshops.

  • Develop or validate the list of mandatory and recommended prime contract flow down clauses for incorporation into subcontracts and purchase orders and ensures those clause are being incorporated as required; also generates or verifies the accuracy and completeness of the contract brief, summary.

  • Work with Construction, Engineering, Procurement, Legal, and Insurance and Risk Management to assist in facilitating organizational interfaces between those performing subcontract formation and administration.

  • Ensure management of Prime Contract is done in compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Maintain and demonstrate working knowledge of government procurement environment and relevant company policies and procedures.

  • Draw upon experienced resources in pricing, contract law, contract drafting, administration and negotiation of change orders, effective correspondence, planning and scheduling.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc in Engineering discipline orequivalent with at least 10 years experience in a similar position(Consultant/Owner) preferably in theMiddle East.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Contracts and Procurement practices and principlesapplied by major oil/gas company is required.

  • Demonstrated ability to manageContractual/Commercial activities to preserve owner/client interests.
