Amec Foster Wheeler Senior Planning Engineer in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia

Amec Foster Wheeler has an opportunity for a Senior Planning Engineer in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will provide a complete planning service to the project management team that has proven expertise in managing large, complex projects with a global reach. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in upstream oil and gas, midstream, LNG, refining, petrochemicals, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and power industries.

We have been awarded contracts by our client for the provision of engineering and project management services for their Unconventional Gas Development Program. The program covers current field development in three different parts of Saudi Arabia with potential further field developments to be added later as the program develops and expands. The Unconventional Gas Development Program is focused on increasing gas production via the development of shale gas and tight gas resources in the Kingdom. The new sources of gas are intended to displace middle and heavy distillate fuels currently used in power generation within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

  • Develop detailed engineering schedules in conjunction with lead discipline engineers

  • Develop engineering progress measurement systems and reporting of progress and productivity

  • Co-ordinate schedule interfaces between licensors' and subcontractors' activities

  • Provide regular forecasting of project schedule including key milestones

  • Lead regular schedule review meetings with the project team

  • Produce weekly and monthly progress reports to the project management team

  • Mentor and development of locally hired planning team members, where appropriate

  • Relevant Degree / Chartered Engineer or appropriate experience

  • A proven track record in engineering and construction of refinery, oil & gas, petrochemical, or similar facilities

  • Experience of FEED and EPC projects, including revamp projects

  • A pro-active approach to solving problems and getting the job done

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Expert with Primavera P6 and spreadsheets, with database capability

  • Self-motivated, energetic, and tenacious

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Willing to share information and develop junior staff
