Functions as the assistant to the Logistics & Supply Chain Management Manager to aid in overseeing, managing, and directing all supply chain management (SCM) and logistics activities. Supervises the daily logistics activities in support of all logistic maintenance activities. Works to identify and resource maintenance repair parts, components, spares, and supplies; manage multimodal transportation/goods movement and packaging; ensure customs and regulatory compliance; direct the efforts of vendors; oversees the supply purchase request functions in the Maximo system.
Assistant to the Logistics Manager to support SCM activities associated with AFSS.
Performs logistics activities unique to the logistical support of airfield activities.
Processing and submission of requisitions inclusive of invoice control, supplier management, and purchase orders.
Manage, supervise, and coordinate the flow of work and materials within or logistics department to expedite delivery of supply request.
Processing and delivery of materials in accordance with regulations and procedures.
Inventory management to include multi-node warehouse and distribution supervision, storage management, issue/collection windows, and warranty administration.
Material management to include repair of repairable, spares, bench stock, and consumables; working knowledge of lead times and impact to cost, schedule, and planned/unplanned workloads.
Planning and optimization to include forecasting and operational levels.
LSCM training to include OJT.
Assist with personnel staffing and management of logistics support team.
Assist with management of vendor and supplier support activities.
Quality control and oversight of subordinate job performance.
Other duties as required
B. Independence: Performs within the broad guidelines of duties and responsibilities with significant choice of methods. Authority to provide input to the Logistics Manager to assist with selecting and implementing goals and objectives within execution of duties and responsibilities.
C. Supervisory Responsibilities: Reports to the LSCM manager. Assistant Manager for Logistics & Supply Chain Management Activities.
A. Education Level: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant experience required.
B. Experience: 15 years’ experience in Depot Support, Warehouse Management and/or Supply Support Activity.
C. Specific knowledge, skill, and ability requirements: Must possess an understanding of the US Army aviation logistics system specific to aircraft maintenance and repair. Demonstrated performance in the management of best-in-class industry supply chain principles – inventory management; forecasting/optimization and planning; stock, store, and issue; material handling, packaging, and transportation / goods movement; logistics IT systems; and Logistics/Supply Chain Management (LSCM) training. A working knowledge of property accountability and reporting, quality control, vendor/subcontractor management, and import/export administration. Proficient with Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Participates in meetings and conferences, as required. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written. Ability to deal effectively with people in the supervision of staff. Ability to effectively communicate with the customer in a professional and courteous manner. Strong organizational and work management skills. US Citizenship is required for access to export/import control information. Possess a valid driver’s license.
