Vinnell Arabia Chief Instructor, Health Science EMT -P in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Functions as the Chief Instructor and supervisor of the EMT-P section. Oversees training and evaluation of Ministry of the National Guard (MNG) medical personnel in pre-hospital emergency medical skills to include Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS). Validates and verifies training, teaching, and evaluation for MNG medical personnel in the sustainment of their combat medical skills using state-of-the-art human simulators and simulated combat scenarios. Trains and teaches pre-hospital medical skills to other designated MNG personnel as directed.
- Develops and submits reports concerning training activities of visiting trainers and students to the Medical Simulation Training Center (MSTC).
Coordinates all classroom and validation room (lanes) instruction.
Conducts medical training utilizing MSTC equipment and facilities with visiting trainees as required.
Develops simulator scenarios appropriate to the level, function, and mission of students to be trained.
Ensures medical supplies, training aids/equipment, office supplies, training supplies as required for MSTC operations are on-hand or on valid requisitioned appropriately through the MNG medical logistics system.
Provides SME support for AHSMS course development and HAD publication development as required.
Monitors the professional qualifications and certification status of the trainers assigned to the AHSEB and coordinates resolution of continuing education and re-certification requirements.
Acts as liaison between the Post Graduate Training Center and Allied Health Science Education Branch (AHSEB) for all medical required qualification courses. Advises Health Affairs Division (HAD) manager and AHSEB manager on updated required medical qualification courses.
Ensures accountability for office furniture, equipment, and/or training aids as required.
Monitors the accountability and operator maintenance of receipted equipment.
Performs administrative tasks to support training.
Oversees and tasks scheduling repairs and maintenance of the training facility, training areas, and equipment.
Maintains professional qualifications and certification requirements for duration of employment.
Performs other duties as directed.
B. Independence: Performs duty under the supervision of the Team Chief Trainer of the MSTC.
C. Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises one (1) EMT-P, and two (2) assistant Saudi trainers. Acts as Chief Trainer, MSTC in his absence.
Provides for supervision of Vinnell Arabia Directed Hire employees designated to perform duties in support of MSTC operations.
A. Education Level: Associate of Applied Sciences or higher-level degree. A combination of five (5) years technical training and experience is acceptable in lieu of formal education requirement. Current certification in accordance with US Department of Transportation National Traffic Safety Board standards as Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic or military equivalent. Current Instructor course certification or its military equivalent, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Pre-hospital Life Support, (PHTLS), Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TC3). Instructor certifications for BLS, ACLS, AMLS, and TC3 must be obtained within first 6 months of employment and maintained throughout employment.
B. Experience: Seven (7) years military or civilian experience in the EMS field. At least three (3) years of experience as an emergency medical services instructor or trainer (civilian or military) to include assessment of clinical skills. A certified formal instructor course or its military equivalent.
C. Specific knowledge, skill, and ability requirements: Working knowledge of medical doctrine, training, and educational methodologies. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Computer literacy in MS Office programs is required.
