Compute and Virtualization Specialist Compute and Virtualization Specialist for various GTS projects in Saudi Arabia is needed. This role concentrates on the management systems infrastructure including software-defined environments, servers and virtualization, business continuity and resiliency required by the client. The Compute and Virtualization Specialist should utilize in-depth knowledge of leading-edge products and technology with specific focus on software-defined environments: compute and virtualization and open source technologies. The Compute and Virtualization Specialist is responsible for the overall operations and management of compute and virtualization technologies with a focus on data and platform performance, availability and scalability.Responsibilities to include:

  • Work within a team of architects: Infrastructure Architect, Transformation Architect, Data and Platform Architect, led by a Chief Architect

  • Administration and day to day tasks in large-scale compute systems including VMware, Hyper-V and different operating systems include Microsoft Windows and Linux

  • Enhancement of compute and virtualization environments based on vendor best practices.

  • Configuration, management and maintenance of compute and virtualization stack

  • Administration, diagnostic and resolution of common maintenance and performance issues

  • Evaluate performance, monitor workloads, and analyze results to ensure optimal operations

  • Work on common projects, including new installations, upgrades, etc

  • Arrange/perform replacements of common hardware failure items

  • Monitor and report on available updates/patches for firmware and software

  • Adhere to technology standards, best practices and IT policies

  • Deliver architectural programs that align IT with business strategy

  • Deliver requisite program documentation including program charters, schedules, requirements documents, specifications, design documents and testing strategies.

  • Cultivate relationships with IT management, project executives and client representatives and enforce IT service management procedures and processes

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the organization's technologies and architectures

  • Maintain current and planned state architectural blueprints

  • Maintain an aspirational architectural road map for the enterprise

  • Initiate and deliver technology evaluations and recommendations.

  • Conduct knowledge transfers with solution specialists colleagues and service delivery team regarding solutions, product updates/changes, lessons learned from previous engagements/experience, etc. as relevant.

Job Specifications and Technical requirements:

  • Proven Infrastructure (Compute and Virtualization) experience

  • Knowledge of Software-Defined Environments, VMware, Hyper-V, Microsoft Windows, Linux, Converged Infrastructures, Cloud, Backup

  • High availability and Clustering

  • Extensive performance design, tuning, engineering and capacity sizing

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Good analytic, organization, presentation, customer service and facilitation skills

  • Excellent problem solving skills; the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

  • Should possess excellent Organizing and communication skills

  • Proven extensive documentation skills using Visio, Powerpoint etc.
