The Sector Project Manager has responsibility for safety, technical, contractual, budget and schedule activities on medium to large projects. The project manager may serve as a resident engineer, structure rep or site leader and may have responsibility for management and contract performance across multiple disciplines or projects. The successful candidate will be a self starter, an excellent communicator, and have proven experience performing most, or all of, the below duties:

  • May serve as Resident Engineer or Structure Representative or site leader on medium or large projects ensuring safety, quality, budget, and schedule requirements are achieved

  • May supervise project staff including: Resident Engineers, Structure reps, Office Engineers, Inspectors, and others

  • Monitors project budgets, financial commitments and expenditures

  • Assist in finding cost-effective solutions to construction issues

  • Manages dispute resolution (including preparation of position papers)

  • Perform complex schedule and claim analysis

  • Supervise project personnel and assign duties to them and provides as needed training

  • Performs constructability and bidability reviews

  • Lead and Manage the contract change order process, claim process, cost, document and quality control efforts

  • Performing duties of the Jacobs Contract / Project Manager:

  • Communicates project status to supervisor and others

  • Prepares and implements project procedures, safety and quality plans

  • Monitors project budgets, financial commitments and expenditures

  • Attends and presents project status at monthly project review meetings (OPRs)

  • Manages and coordinates sub consultant participation on the project

  • Develops and implements staffing plans in accordance with contract and project requirements

  • Develops staffing projection and trend/exposure reports

  • Reviews / approves invoices to the client

  • Manages Accounts Receivable (A/R) and Accounts Payable (A/P) for client and sub consultant invoices

  • Conducts client expectation surveys

  • Schedules Customer Satisfaction and Quality Surveys

  • Attends Project Status meetings with Client

  • Assures performance of project personnel meets Client needs and expectations

  • Attends monthly managers meeting and participate on project-status calla

  • Performing duties as a “Seller- Doer” in Construction Management

  • Actively participates in professional organizations and other networking venues to advance Jacobs’ relationships and business development

  • Participate in strategy sessions

  • Attend prospective client and project stakeholder meetings

  • Lead or assist proposal efforts

  • Lead or participate on interview teams


  • Bachelor’s Degree - Construction Management, Building Science, or Engineering

  • 15 years of Construction & Engineering industry experience required

  • Has previously directly managed and successfully delivered Project and/or Program in excess of $1B USD

  • This position requires experience in the successful delivery of Commercial Facilities and Office Buildings including but not limited to corporate headquarters, beverage facilities, office suites, retail and or wholesale stores, hotels, coffee shops, shopping centers, malls, gift shops, fast food restaurants, commercial businesses, spas and fitness centers, grocery stores, salons, golf courses and club houses and other similar facilities and buildings.

  • Complete understanding of the construction industry

  • Extensive knowledge of projects and program financial operations

  • Proven risk management and contracting knowledge within PMCM

  • Exhibits strong leadership and mentoring qualities

  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times

  • Ability to delegate work appropriately

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Computer knowledge including Microsoft Office products

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
