Site Engineer

Job Description

To oversee the safe and efficient delivery of a station within the 24 month schedule & budget of up to $60m, whilst maintaining effective relationships when interfacing with stakeholders and general public.

Lead the construction team to work with all subcontractors to deliver the highest standard of product.

Help develop, drive and establish the implementation phase management processes and procedures.

Deliver high end architectural finishing and large scale complex space frame roof canopies.

Essential qualifications/ experience:

  • 10 years relevant successful experience of Management in Transportation/Infrastructure Construction in both Direct Hire and Subcontracting

  • Relevant experience of metro rail engineering systems and equipment, and implementation

  • Broad understanding of environmental, safety and health regulations and their implementation!

  • Strong interpersonal skills including highly effective written and verbal communication!

  • Ability to readily communicate with craft and team management

  • Some experience of client and supplier relationship management

Desirable qualifications/ experience:

  • Engineering Degree in a relevant discipline

  • Membership of an appropriate Professional Institution

  • Fluency in both English and Arabic

Detail Job Description:

  • Fully supports and drives BACS Zero Incident and other ESH & Security strategies across the Station Area.

  • Responsible for meeting Quality objectives, adhering to procedures, identifying non-conformances and implementing actions to prevent recurrence within the Station area.

  • Drives delivery & owns construction for for the assigned station (or other work areas), supports the SCM with defining scope/ construction interfaces and construction methods for all Section works; preparing necessary schedules & budgets and procuring plant, labour, materials, subcontracts and services as required necessary to effectively meet programme objectives.

  • Within area of responsibility, oversees jobsite expenditures for craft supervision, labour equipment, material and services and verifies field operations are within the budget.

  • Involved/ Consulted in arranging permits and licenses are in place for the start of the affected works at site.

  • Supports efforts to promote and facilitate communication to Customer and Stakeholders and resolution of issues.

  • Supports the training and development plans to ensure the station organisation is composed of qualified and knowledgeable personnel.

  • Promotes and practices Continuous Improvement, Constructability & teambuilding throughout the station team.

  • Supports the Risk and Trend/ Change Management programmes within the station team.

  • Supports labour relations activities in accordance with RMP-CWJV practice and standards

  • Works with Field Engineering to document all Turnover activities and assists in obtaining client acceptance of works

  • Supports close out of all contracts and commitments
